While we all want to be healthy, it is not always easy and it is not always clear what "healthy" even means. There is a plethora of information online from nutrition blogs to scientific journals but articles often contradict one other. My goal is to help you simplify the process and parse out what is correct. The reality is, there are a lot of nutrition plans that work but there is only one that will work for you. At NOURISH, we take an individualized approach looking at your unique lifestyle, genetics, tastes and interests to find the nutrition and lifestyle habits that are sustainable for you and your family.

My name is Ipashri Bharti and I am a Functional-Medicine Nutritionist, Lifestyle Coach, and Founder of NOURISH, where we provide a specialized and individualized approach to nutrition consulting based on both science and art.

While I have always been passionate about food, like many others, my passion for nutrition began with myself. My background is in finance; I have a bachelors & masters in computer science and masters in finance & economics from the 
London School of Economics (LSE). However, when I was working the long hours required for my job, I began to have debilitating migraines and learned I had an autoimmune disease that required a new lifestyle and nutrition habits. Consequently, I spent a lot of time analyzing the "science" of nutrition and autoimmune diseases, taking a Nutrition Course at the well-respected Institute for Optimum Nutrition. As a food enthusiast, I have also taken cooking classes in London at Cordon Blu and Cordon Vert.

Here's what I learned and how I can help you fundamentally reshape your life through food:

  • Science: Eating healthy has to be INDIVIDUALIZED. It is scientifically proven that our lifestyle is driven by how our genetics interact with our environment, also known as epigenetics. I start all my sessions with a detailed analysis of your medical history, genetic history, food habits and lifestyle. As a result, I find the key small strategic changes to your diet based on your specific genetic history that can make a big impact.

  • Art. Nutritious recipes can also be DELICIOUS. By using fresher ingredients and certain "tools-of-the-trade" I've learned from the top culinary schools, I can teach you practical skills to make regular meals both healthy and satisfying.

Ultimately, my goal is to blend the science of nutrition with the art and creativity of cooking to provide you practical skills that make your daily meals easy, delicious, and nutritious.

We believe in creating a customized program for each client. There are no cookie cutter packages.

The reason why this is so important is "
EPIGENETICS." Recent developments show that our environment, including what we eat, when you sleep or exercise, can actually chemically modify certain "genes" and turn them on and off. To put it simply, your nutrition and lifestyle can fundamentally impact your genetics. Genetics determine everything -- aging, your predilection for certain diseases, obesity and much more. Basically, by improving your nutrition, you can set yourself up for a healthier, longer life.

However, genetics is complex. Our combination of ~20,000 genes is what makes us unique. It explains why some of us have brown or blonde hair, blue or hazel eyes. Importantly, 
our genetic code impacts how we take in our environment, including how certain foods or exercises impact our physical and neurological health. For example, why do certain diets help some people lose weight but cause cravings and weight gain in others? 

That's why my nutrition consulting starts 
first and foremost with understanding your unique genetic code and medical history.

  • Individualized Nutritional Consultations. I will work closely with you to create a holistic plan tailored to your specific health challenges and goals. I understand that time is of the essence given all our clients have busy schedules so we ensure that concerns are addressed efficiently and with the least amount of time. 

  • Pantry Cleanout. When starting on a new endeavor it's best to start with a clean slate and get rid of the old baggage. Let me help you get rid of the products holding you back from achieving a healthy and energetic you.

Let me join you at your local grocery store to explain how to efficiently scan labels for unhealthy ingredients and how small adjustments to your shopping habits can result in large changes in your health and diet.

  • Recipe and Menu Assistance. Cooking doesn't have to be difficult or take hours to complete. I can work with you to create nutritious dishes that match your busy lifestyle and your budget. Learn which shortcuts will help reduce your headache without sacrificing your health or taste. ​

Ipashri is an experienced nutritional therapist and founder of NOURISH. She studied science of nutrition at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition after a successful career in finance. She studied finance & economics in the London School of Economics.

She has completed cooking courses in London at the renowned Cordon Blu and Cordon Vert and traveled to Thailand, Italy, Spain and other countries to study local cuisines.

In her free time, Ipashri loves to cook and go to the beach with her two daughters and husband.
